Hello everyone,

Time for a quick newsletter. 3 games into the Ruckrunde and HSV have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1. That really tells the story in a nutshell - Good, but could be so much better. It was certainly disappointing to lose so tamely at Dortmund and even getting a draw at home to Wolfsburg has left us feeling a bit low.

Now we have welcomed Ruud Van Nistelrooy and we are hoping that he will be able to give the team a sharper finish in the penalty area. At the moment they seem OK to push the ball around the middle of the pitch but are a bit lightweight in front of the goal.

HSV v FC Nuremberg    01-May-2010

This year we make a special visit to the Volkspark for the game HSV v FC Nuremberg which will be played on 1st May. If you want to go, and you would like me to arrange match tickets then you need to act now. You should send £45 for each ticket (I am sorry, no concessions) to me before 17-February. I don't yet know exactly what the tickets will cost, but if they are any less than this, I will of course refund the difference. It's not cheap, I know, but I can't be responsible for the Pound:Euro rate or what prices HSV put on their tickets.

Sorry if this sounds like a load of rules and "you-musts". I have been sent the deadline for applying for tickets from the HSV Supporters Club and they don't allow concessionary discounts. When I apply for tickets, it is my credit card and my money. If people ask me to get them tickets, I have to ask for the money upfront because it doesn't take many people to let me down before I am badly "out of pocket".

It's sure to be a great trip and a load of fun. It's unlikely to be a big Meisterschaft party outside the Rathaus (but you never know!) but we can still enjoy ourselves..
