DSC Arminia Bielefeld 2 HSV 4

A few years ago, i had the very great pleasure to spend a holiday in what is known as the most boring city in Germany, Bielefeld. It is a bit of a harsh title to give any place and I suppose for the people of Bielefeld and surrounding area it has a kind of charm.

And it is certainly not as dull as Bochum or Monchengladbach.

Its not always a trip that HSV enjoy, quite often they have flopped here, but this time the luck was with us as they came back from 2-0 down (and it could have been much more) to secure a 4-2 win.

Maybe its a concern that HSV are leaking goals a bit more this season, but they make up for it with their attacking prowess. In this game, Reinhardt scored HSVs first after staying forward from a set piece. The ball came back in the area and Basti fired in from close range. HSV.de reported his first goal with his feet in 5 years! His second goal was more typical Reinhardt - a glancing header from the near post which reminded me of Chris Sutton in his pomp (ie playing for Blackburn, not chelsea or Celtic). Olic put HSV into the lead, but all the credit to Guerrero for a powerful run and Jarolim added a 4th with a deflected shot from outside the area.

HSV moved up to 2nd place just behind Schalke in this embryonic stage of the season, but we seem to have coped OK with the departure of old whats-his-name Van Der Vaart and who's-it Kompany

After 3 games, a hard fought draw at Munich and a quite lucky win v Kalrsruhe and now a good win at Bielefeld have landed us 7 points. There doesn't seem to be anyone to fear in the Bundesliga this year and we have survived the loss of key players. So maybe this is our year after all.

We can still dream!!
