HSV 1 Wolfsburg 1

The record shows a 1-1 draw but this was a point that I thought we weren't going to get. It was down to a 92nd minute equaliser by Trochowski that we even ended up with a single point after we had tried everything to get back in the game.

Back at the start of the game, played on the new pitch marked out with feeble red lines to be able to show against the forecast snow, it was HSV who had started well. We made several good chances: Jansen had a good shot well saved and Berg also came close with a header. Berg was also through one on one but his touch was too heavy and Lenz in the goal made a brave stop. But as much as HSV dominated play, it was Wolfsburg who had some real good chances. Rozehnal and Mathijsen were their usual selves - at the same time pannicky and sluggish. It comes to something when Rost is the most alert person in defence.

Eventually, after a cross from the half way line Dzeko shielded the ball, bamboozled Mathjisen and hit the ball into the net. There was a call for handball by Dzeko, but it was slight if anything. In fact the ball could have only hit one arm because Mathjisen was busy pulling the other one.

Anyway, 0-1 down and we had to chase the game. Not the way we like to play and it showed. Nobody was able to play a [ass with any pace and Wolfsburg were able to keep plenty of players behind the ball. Jarolim started doing his falling-over act and Jansen was more and more out of contention.

On 65 minutes Jansen had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for offside. Multiple replays confirmed the decision but it was very close. It seemed that Wolfsburgs luck was turning as nothing ran right for us. Rozehnal hit the bar and Jansens shot was cleared off the line.

There were 90 minutes on the clock when Elia was fouled again. Even Frank Rost had come up, but inexplicably stood right out on the wing. No matter as Trochowski who had come on as sub stepped up, lifted the ball over the wall and into the net. It was really a cock-up by the keeper as he almost dived out the way of the ball but we'll take it all the same thanks.

The draw keeps us in 5th place. Not really good enough because we didn't take a chance to put pressure on the teams above.
